What Zionsville homes are actually like

Zionsville pairs a genuinely historic village core — brick streets, older homes with original detail — with newer estate properties on larger lots outside it. Those are two different cleaning jobs. Older village homes need care around original wood, plaster, and vintage fixtures; the larger properties are simply more square footage, often with multiple levels and more bathrooms than a typical home.

Surveyed in November 1851 and established that January of 1852, the town owes its name to a small courtesy: proprietor Elijah Cross offered to call it Marysville after his wife, she declined, and he asked his partner William Zion to lend his name instead. Zion was a railroad director, and the town grew along the line he helped bring through the Eagle Creek valley.
