What Westfield homes are actually like

Westfield is one of the fastest-growing communities in the area, which means an unusual concentration of recent construction. New homes bring their own cleaning realities: construction dust that keeps resurfacing for weeks after move-in, un-sealed grout that stains if treated wrong, and finishes still under builder warranty where an aggressive product can cause a real problem.

Founded in 1834 by three Quakers — Asa Bales, Simon Moon and Ambrose Osborne — who had left North Carolina to get away from the slave economy, and named after Bales' meeting house back in Surry. The conviction came with them: Westfield became one of the most active stops on Indiana's Underground Railroad, with at least eight documented safe houses, Bales' own among them.
